🌍 A School That Celebrates 20+ Languages and Cultures

At Palms Elementary & School for Advanced Studies, we are proud of our diverse community. Our students and families speak more than 20 languages, and we believe these languages and cultures make our school stronger.

Palms offers the Language and Literacy in English Acceleration Program (L2EAP) and the Mainstream English Program. These programs support English Learners—students whose first or home language may not be English—while also serving students who already speak English fluently. Our goal is to help every student build strong English skills and succeed in all subjects while learning the California academic standards.

 

Students receive support in several ways:

  • In the classroom: Teachers help students learn English while also learning reading, writing, math, and other subjects.

  • Small-group support: Our English Learner coordinator works with students who need extra help.

  • After-school support: Teachers provide additional time for students to practice English and build confidence.

 

Our programs follow California guidelines for supporting English Learners, so students continue to grow in their English skills while making strong academic progress.
