⚽ LA SCORES After-School Program

At Palms Elementary, students can join LA SCORES, a nonprofit after-school program that mixes soccer, creative writing, and community service. This program helps students grow both on and off the field.

Students in LA SCORES become “poet-athletes”—learning athletic skills while also expressing themselves through writing and making a positive difference in their community.

What Students Gain

LA SCORES helps students develop important life skills, including:

• ⚽ Staying active and healthy through soccer

• ✍️ Expressing ideas and creativity through writing

• 🤝 Giving back through community service projects

• 🌟 Building leadership, teamwork, and confidence

With support from caring coaches and staff who act as positive mentors, students also learn values like compassion, creativity, commitment, and collaboration.

A Strong Partnership with Our Community

Palms Elementary has been part of LA SCORES since 2002, when the program first started in Los Angeles. Our school was one of the first to host the program, bringing this exciting opportunity to local students.

Today, LA SCORES has grown to serve the Palms community, including:

• Four elementary schools

• Two middle schools

• A high school alumni program

This growth shows the lasting impact LA SCORES has had on students and families in our neighborhood.
