Young Storytellers
✍️ Young Storytellers Program
At Palms Elementary, students have the chance to join Young Storytellers, a program that helps kids take control of their own stories. Students learn how to share their experiences, celebrate their backgrounds, and give a voice to people who aren’t always heard. By understanding the power of their own story—shaped by their culture, family, community, and experiences—students grow into confident, empathetic leaders who can make a difference in the world.
Script to Stage Program
Our 9-week Script to Stage program pairs each student with an adult mentor who helps them write their own original script. After the script is complete, professional actors perform the story live for the students and their peers at the Big Show!
Students in this program:
-
Write stories based on their own lives
-
Build characters that reflect real experiences and communities
-
See their work come to life on stage, inspiring confidence and pride
Some of our Palms students’ scripts have even been featured in the Biggest Show, performed by all-star actors from film and TV in Downtown Los Angeles.
Why Families Love It
Young Storytellers gives students a chance to express themselves, practice writing, and build confidence. It’s a safe, creative space where kids learn the value of their own voices, and parents love seeing their children shine on stage and off.
✨ At Palms Elementary, Young Storytellers helps students write, perform, and own their stories—and inspires them to lead with empathy and creativity.
