Cell Phone Policy

Per district policy, students are encouraged to leave phones at home. If a phone is observed being used during school hours or activities, it may be confiscated until redeemed by a parent/guardian or as determined by the school principal. This policy extends into the after-school program, where phones may only be used in case of an emergency.

Si se observa que un teléfono se utiliza durante el horario o actividades escolares, puede ser confiscado hasta que un padre/tutor lo canjee o según lo determine el director de la escuela. Metro GoPass TAP Card

All Los Angeles Unified K-12 students are eligible to receive a Metro GoPass TAP card from their school site to ride free on Metro, Culver City, Norwalk, DASH, Montebello, and Santa Monica buses and trains. Existing TAP cards need to be reactivated for the 23-24 school year. Find your activation code on Schoology, then go to taptogo.net/gopass and follow the instructions.

If you don't yet have a TAP card (or if you lost the old card), you can request one from school. Once you have registered your code, wait one hour before using it at any TAP reader. Make sure that you use your TAP card within 30 days to finalize your registration; otherwise your eligibility code will expire. Activated GoPasses will be valid until June 30, 2024.

Title I Parent and Family Engagement Policy

Palms Elementary School has developed a written Title I parent and family engagement policy with input from Title I parents and agreed upon by Title I parents. This policy was developed after careful review and revision by the School Site Council in their October meeting. This policy is distributed to parents and families through our website, and a hard copy is available upon request in the main office. This policy is available in both English and Spanish, with other languages available upon request.
